The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a broad mandate to promote job creation, economic growth, sustainable development, and improved standards of living. It has crosscutting responsibilities in the areas of trade, technology, entrepreneurship, economic development, environmental stewardship and statistical research and analysis. It also houses the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS).

EPA funding opportunities
Every year, EPA awards over $4 billion in funding for grants and other assistance agreements. From small non-profit organizations to large state governments, EPA works to help many visionary organizations achieve their environmental goals. With countless success stories over the years, EPA grants remain a chief tool in the advancement of human health and the environment.

President’s Environmental Youth Award
This award honors a wide variety of projects developed by young individuals, school classes (kindergarten through high school), summer camps, public interest groups, and youth organizations to promote environmental awareness. Applicants from all 50 states and U.S. territories are eligible to compete for a regional certificate of special recognition and a national Presidential award.
