Adolescent-Centered Health Care - The Mount Sinai Model: A TAG Talk
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Adolescent Health, in collaboration with the Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs and Icahn School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics and Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health Professor at Mount Sinai and Director of the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, Angela Diaz, developed a video about the growing understanding that adolescents and young adults need healthcare that is geared specifically to their needs, and is distinct from services provided to adults or young children.
The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center provides high quality, comprehensive, and inter-disciplinary health and wellness services focused solely on the unique needs of adolescents and young adults.
The video, Adolescent-Centered Health Care: The Mount Sinai Model — A TAG Talk, can be viewed in one full-length format as well as broken out into six segments (1, 1b, 2, 3, 4, 4b) and a Q&A section for viewing individually or as a group. Two accompanying discussion guides — one for professionals (PDF, 2 pages) and one for families (PDF, 2 pages) — can be used in a variety of settings, including staff meetings, conference sessions, or trainings, and instructions for preparation and facilitation are provided. Dr. Diaz's biography, transcripts, and additional resources are also provided.
