Technology, Teen Dating Violence and Abuse, and Bullying
This study from the Department of Justice analyzed violence and abuse experienced by teens via technology, as well as the cyber abuse present within teen romantic relationships. Results showed that 17% of participants reported being victims of cyberbullying in the past year, with 26% of youth in relationships reporting cyber dating abuse. Girls were more likely than boys to report both types of victimization, and LGBTQ youth were more likely to experience both forms of abuse than heterosexual teens.
