Preventing Suicide: Following up After the Crisis

This article describes SAMHSA’s National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Crisis Center Follow-Up Cooperative Agreements, which support crisis centers within Lifeline’s network in systematically following up with Lifeline callers to check in and follow up on treatment referrals. It also discusses ongoing program evaluation results, which suggest that following up is an effective suicide prevention technique.
