Fact Sheet: Solitary Confinement Banned for Juveniles in Federal Prisons
This fact sheet highlights the announcement that the use of solitary confinement for juveniles in federal prisons is now banned. President Obama stated that he plans to adopt the policy recommendations outlined in a DOJ report that suggests a limitation on the use of restrictive housing at the federal, state, and local level, as well as ways to further humane and safe conditions for both inmates and correctional officers.
