A Positive Youth Development Research Agenda
The field of positive youth development (PYD) is at an important crossroads in terms of defining its scope and directions for future research. The Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs (Working Group) recognizes the importance of PYD and created a national Research Agenda on PYD that describes three research domains and 10 key research questions that could give researchers, practitioners, and policymakers a point of reference for future policies, programs, and research, including evaluations.
The approach to developing the Research Agenda on PYD was published in the Journal of Youth Development and shares lessons learned, emphasizing the importance of organizational systems change efforts and interagency collaborations.
